Voice Activation and Battery Life
Most mini recorders have voice activation (also called VOX). The recorder starts when it hears speech and pauses in silence, so it saves battery and memory and leaves you less silence to skip through. See all voice activated recorders.
Battery life depends on size. Our smallest keyring recorder records for up to 10 hours per charge, the USB stick model up to 12 hours, and the magnetic recorder up to 240 hours. For something critical, use normal recording mode so the first words aren't missed.
